Super cool vintage set of American Ceramic Industries space age dinnerware. Four complete place settings includes, 4 dinner plates, 4 dessert/salad plates, 4 tea/coffee cups and 4 saucers all trimmed in 22k gold.
These amazing dishes put me in mind of Buck Rogers, laser guns and early space flight, but in reality they\'re meant to commemorate the Convair XF-92 delta wing supersonic aircraftpilotedby famous American test pilot Chuck Yeager in 1949. The futuristic looking XF-92 was able to reach Mach 1.05, but had design flaws and was retired in 1953.
Dinnerware is in good shape for its age. There are some discolorations (small black dots) on 2 of the cups and one of the saucers has a small chip on the bottom. This looks more like a flaw than damage. There is some minor paint loss on the plates and some rub wear due to being stacked on 2 or 3 pieces. Please look at photos for condition details. Overall these dishes look great and would set an out of this world table!
