This artwork was acquired in a folioof paintings and drawings from Germany, the artwork is accompanied withregistration certificate at National Fine Arts Registry, with a letter ofdescription, COA, with transfer of ownership letter and transfer of registrationcertificate to the new owner, artwork is currently presented and described asin manner of the artist, as is, as was acquired. The Parisian district of Montmartrewas the beating heart of belle époquebohemianism. In its nightclubs and brothels an extraordinary artisticrevolution was fermented.Utrillo was painting extraordinary street scenes andwas exhibiting his works at the Salon d’Automneand the Salon des Indépendants.It was a period marked by a radical bleaching of his palette as white becamehis predominant tone, and he began mixing paint with glue and lime, producing numerousmasterpieces, mainly the streets of Montmartre and churches, working frequentlyfrom picture postcards. Utrillo painted more than 5,000 canvases, almost all ofthem street scenes. For his contribution was awarded the Légiond’Honneur.
