Two of the descriptions brandished by two prior listers of this SUPER VERY RARE Aurora kit. Could be the Holy Grail for many die-hard, inveterate, veteran kit collectors, like myself! Thing is, according to various kit collector blogs, very few collectors are even aware of the existence of this kit, nor its companion kit of The Nutty Nose Nipper. And it\'s no great mystery why, either. Among the few hobby shops that would have stocked these kits, even THEIR clientele would have shied away from these kits, not only because of the high price - remember, it is 1965 - but also the strange subject matter. As a matter of Aurora history, these two Aurora kits were such poor sellers, and so unpopular that Aurora made an offer to these kit purchasers allowing them to return the kit(s) for any item in Aurora\'s catalog. And in \'65 Aurora had a goodly number of much more desirable and worthwhile kits than these two weirdos. You can be assured that a goodly number were returned, contributing immensely to the ultra rarity of these kits.
I have inventoried this Wacky kit and it is 100% complete. The box is beautiful, as are the instructions. The \'grunt\' bulb, rope, metal rod, etc. are still in their factory sealed cello \'bag\', AND the \'grunt\' bulb is in perfect condition and not deflated, disintegrated or even missing as in the two other SUPER RARE and VERY RARE offerings!!! I had to try the bulb and squeezed it and it let out with that sweet \'grunt\' sound!
Quite possibly and highly likely that this is the RAREST of any and all Aurora kits. Take, for example, the original \'monster\' kits - Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, etc. which were a huge hit with the youngsters at that time, and of which Aurora produced MILLIONS of each (FACT - look it up), and collectors/dealers are selling them at high dollar figures.
