Exceptional artistry and technical mastery underscore the world class quality of this lovely pair of enamel boxes. Tiny with surprising heft, this set duplicates the qualities of high-end pieces made in Austria in the 19th and early 20th century. It is possible, if not likely, that they are of more recent vintage, but I also have seen many similar pillboxes and patch boxes in a range of sources that would be difficult to date without a mark.

Featuring turquoise guilloche and cobalt champlevé enamel cased in sterling silver, these two very fine examples of a luminous art form blend art nouveau flair and classic style to great effect. Each piece has two thumb rests for easy open and close
