An authentic black Army Chaplain vestment stole from World War II.A rare museum-worthy piece of WorldWar II history.In excellent condition.Made from high quality grosgrain fabric which is a ribbed fabric with a low luster. It\'s the samefabric used for the ribbons on military medals. It was popular for use inthings such as stoles which had a formal look. The Vestment Stole has gold embroidered badges -Army Eagle and Christian Cross.This WWII Chaplains Vestment scarf is on display at Camp Roberts Historical Museum in California and Mountain HomeAir-forceBase in Idaho.There were only 8896 Chaplains in WWII. As an optional issue, the Vestment Stole is extremely Rare -especially one in excellent condition.This stole was my step-father\'s, an Army WWII Chaplain.The vestment is 51” long from the seam at the back of the neck to the bottom of the fringe, and 7 ¼” wide at the ends.Chaplain\'s Scarf: The Scarf was optional issue, but could be drawn from QMC services if necessary. Official designation was Scarf, Chaplains\', Christian Faith, Stock No. 62-S-2505 and it was an expendable item. The Scarf was a standard ecclesiastical pattern, made of black material. It wasembroidered on each end with a gold-colored Coat of Arms of the United States and with the Chaplain\'s Branch Insignia (spaced 1/2 inch below the Coat of Arms).I am including a Barlow gold-toned pin -that my step-father had pinned to the stole -please note there is a small pin mark on the stole from this pin.Free US ShippingFeel free to ask any questions.
