I continue to selling the contents of my parent\'s Brooklyn Heights estate. In many cases I am listing items that belonged to my grandmother and aunt. I have had the great pleasure in wearing many of their jewelry which ranged the gamut from Victorian, Art Deco, great costume and Modernist mid-century pieces.

My aunt was a great collector of Chinese jewelry. I have sold some fabulous enamel and stone bracelets that she acquired over time. She was a dancer in the Martha Graham ensemble and was exposed to some of the great Modernist designers like Art Smith but her true love was for Asian jewelry. I don\'t know muchhistory about this fabulous necklace other than it has been in my family for years. The large filigree flora\'s measure 1 1/2\" x 1 1/2\" with a smallcabochon turquoisein the center and what look like small bronze cabochons on eachpetal. All thebronze or coppercabochons are in placeexcept for one flower which is missing two. Unless you look carefully they are not noticeable. Ibelieve this is from the late 19th Century or early 20th Century. Theclasp has wonder detail work and on theback is stamped CHINA. It looks as though two newer chain links were added by the clasp.This is a truly unique piece and whereas I have seen other Chinese bib necklaces on , none quite as beautiful as this.

Measures 16\" open. The front measures 5\" h x 4 1/2\" w. There are 13 petals.
