Description A beautiful decorative Englishantique Edwardian solid sterling silversovereign caseby the silversmiths Deakin & Francis Ltd, in lovely conditionand with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1901.Excellent quality genuine116 year oldsterling silver example, decorated with handsome engine-turned engraving,with a sprung push-button hinged silver lid and is complete with its interior sprung silver coin plate and silver bow, (ring). There areno added personal engraved monograms or inscriptions in the ornate shield cartouche and itweighs a heavy approx 28 grams. Complete with an antique Georgian silver sixpence coin dated 1816.

Measurements Measures approx1.85 inches (47mm)(including bow) x1.25 inches (32mm) and is0.6 inches (15mm) deep.

ConditionLovely condition, no splits or cracks, no solder repairs and no nasty knocks ordents,a nice clean example. The silver lid hinge works perfectly and the lid opens and closes securely. There seems to be 2 levels of lid shutting which is unusual, the first click closes the lid and allows the lid to spring open when the lid button is pressed, if you push hard and close the lid, it then requires a thumb nail to spring the lid open; I have not come across this before.
