Offered today is an antique large very sweet hand woven buttocks basket. This style of basket was used for egg gathering. Although found in Pennsylvania it may be the work of a southern, possibly Appalachian weaver which woulddate to the late 19th/early 20th century. Nice, light honey color with a smooth, worn handle. Therearesome issues such as small areas of breakage and loss, as can be expected in an item of this age. Still very sturdy and displays beautifully. Measures approximately 20 1/2\" across, 9\" in height without handle 11\" with handle and 12\" wide. Please take a look at all photos., as they are a large part of the description. A nice size and a lovely and rare country period piece to add to your collection!
