Mylisting today is for a 54 mm (1/32 scale built and painted diorama (vignette) depicting an eliteWWI Prussian Guard Infantryman advancing against the French defenders in the Vosges Mountains in 1914.The white metal expertly painted figure isfrom the excellent Monogram Merite series of military miniatures. Therectangular base measures approximately5 incheslong by 3 inches wide and represents the rugged terrain of the Vosges Mountains. I imbedded the figure into the ground cover. The trees will be removed to facilitate packaging. The basehas felt tabs underneath to protect furniture or shelving. Altogether, a very nicely built and detailed diorama featuring a military miniature painted by a master modeler.

Uponthe onset ofhostilities in August 1914, the French army launched an attack in the Vosges Mountains, on the border between Germany and France. For their part, the German army launched a feint attack in the area to draw French resources away for the main attackthrough Belgium and into Northwestern France. These battles in the Alsace/Lorraine provinces remain an obscure sideshow in relation tothe subsequent bloody battles on the Western Front.

I have other built dioramas and figures in my collection, which I will be listing in the days to come.

Shipping will be via either First Class Small Package or Priority Mail, depending upon the buyer\'s location.

Thank you for looking and please click on my other items of related military items, and, yes, I do combine
