Shown here is a batik tulis from Java Indonesia usually worn by the bride and groom at a Javanese wedding on the island of Java, Indonesia.
Size: 40" x84".
Material: Cotton.
Condition: Tiny 1/4" hole on the selvedge. Tiny, light stains;otherwise, very good.
From the Javanese website: Batik with Sido Mukti pattern are worn by the bride and the groom. Sido means continuously, Mukti means prosper and full of happiness. It is expected the bride and groom who wear this batik will happy and prosperous. The pattern shows boxes in diagonal pattern and inside each box there are \'meru\' or house, small \'sawat\' or half wing and sometimes butterfly. Therefore, when wore this Batik the entire pattern should facing up.
