A modernist letter scale manufactured by Jacob Maul, Germany, ca. 1935
A stunning Bauhaus / Art Deco period letter scale, clearly inspired by the work Marianne Brandt undertook for Ruppelwerk, Gotha at the outset of the 1930s.
It is executed in enamelled metal and stands on a chrome base. It is initialled JM on the side. The Jakob Maul company was established in Hamburg in 1912 and began producing letter scales in 1930.
The scale is in excellent cosmetic condition and full working order; please see all the photos that I have provided. There are only minimal signs of age and no significant damages such as dents, holes or signs of restoration. Its size is approximately 135 (l) x 135 (h) x 52 (w) mm

Paypal is accepted and I do not add a surcharge to cover their fees. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it\'s a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible for overseas customers to pay by another means such as bank transfer in GBP£ by prior arrangement.

All buyers please make contact within 3 days of sale. Payment is required within 7 days.

Non-payment

All non-paying buyers are, without exception, reported to . Condition of items

Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique items and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item\'s condition and take multiple illustrative photographs.

Vintage electrical items

Vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition without electrical guarantee, so must always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use.

Returns

Returns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I\'m afraid that straightforward buyer\'s remorse does not qualify and that all return costs must be borne by the buyer.
