Click to open supersize imageHere we have a Bausch & Lomb Gemolite Stereoscopic Microscope. This microscope is especially designed for inspecting gems. It has the original specimen clamp that moves smoothly. This scope was deaccessioned from the Harvard University Gemology and Mineralogy Lab so you know it a good instrument thaqt was properly cared for. It comes with two stereoscopic objectives, one is labled 2.0x on the thumb screw and the other, 4.0x. There are also a set of default 0.7x fixed lenses to view through on the foward-rotating objectives carosel. The eyepieces are matched, 15x.All knobs and focusing mechanisms move smoothly and steadily.The microscope shows typical wear for its age. Minor losses to the finishon the edges of the stage. The lampturns on when plugged in and there is an electrical-tape repair to the cord. The arm moves up and down properly and although one of the knobs used to move the arm is slightly bent upward, this hasnt has any discernable effect on the action of the mechanism; which speaks well to how solidly this thing was built to begin with! (see detail images).This microscope measures 13&1/4\'\' tall when adjusted to the downward-most position. It is 8&1/4\'\' from front to back and 5&1/2\'\' Shipping
