Thisisa Beautiful Antique Art Nouveau STAHLKNECHT Bust of a Lady, # 2422.

This very lovely and substantial piece is about 12 1/2\" tall with a 4\" base. It weighs2 pounds and 13 ounces.

The bust is made from terracotta or other pottery material, finished with a bronze patinated glaze that gives it a remarkable look of bronze. The lady has delicate features with her hair pulled back to a knot at the back. The style is unmistakely Art Nouveau, andthe bustcaptures the grace and elegance of the period. We are confident the bust is of the period, circa 1900, and we will guarantee your satisfaction in that regard. I found a vase by Stahlknecht, attributed to \"Waldemar Stahlknecht terracotta factory in Neuhaldensleben, Germany\", number 2441 A, circa 1900. The mark on that piece looked different, but I did notice the similarity, and numeric proximity,in the design / model number so I thought that might be an indication of the same Stahlknecht company, but I do not know for sure. The marks on the back of the bust are shown in a closeup photo.

Condition

As found, there are two small spots of flecked off / chipped glaze. This is in the glaze ONLY. These are each shown in closeup photos, marked with blue arrows. On several of the photos you will see some spots on the face and neck that may appear to have similar issues, but this is NOT the case. These are just reflections or other photo effects.
