This beautiful antique silver spoon is a mystery to me - I have never found one like it before. It appears to be solid silver , not sure if 925 or a European standard. It has a gold wash ( gilt to back of bowl ) and edges. The enamels are lovely colours and the bowl has a stunning little enamelled portrait of a lady in 17th century style. The finial is a lovely cupid / cherub / putti set in a frame. I believe it is European origin , but hallmarks are hard to decipher. I have seen similar styles but not on a teaspoon - it would seem Vienna was the home of a lot of top enamel artists , however , Italy , Switzerland , France and Russia also had top makers. It is not perfect there is some enamel loss to back of stem , but i am sure it is quite old and still a lovely cabinet collector piece. Perhaps you know a lot more than me and recognise the style age and origin ? Start is the reserve. Feel free to ask any relevant questions.
