Gillette Old Type Open Comb razors are known for their more aggressive (as compared to later Tech \"cousins\") shave.This is a beautiful three-piece razor.
The razor is attractive and seems to be in very nice condition, considering its age.There is some plating loss and wear evident on the handle.The head shows significant plating loss, but maintains much luster as well.There is a small crack (common in this type of razor) at the ball end of the handle. The ball end has been glued to maintain the integrity of the razor.There is also a small crack at the shoulder of the razor. The handle can be turned around the neck (some looseness) when adding or removing the blade, if not careful.
There is no date code evident on the razor, so the exact manufacturing year is unclear.
I believe these were made between 1904 and 1929.
