This 22 inch doll has never been undressed, and obviously never playedwith. She is in just wonderful conditionwith age being the only thing working against her. Either some little girl was never allowed toplay with her, or a collector purchased her.She wears her original wedding dress, veil, underclothes, shoes andsocks, and even her dainty pearl necklace most likely her ‘something new’.

The only problem with her clothing is the yellowing of her dress in a fewareas and aging of her shoes. Her veilis secured to her head with a pearl band and is 32 inches long from the frontof her head to the tip at the end. Thereare no holes or tears anywhere on this veil!Only a loose thread here and there where the 4 inch lace is sewn onaround the bottom. Her dress obviously has never been removed, so I did notwant to do that, but took as many pictures as I could without removing any clothing.The bodice is white with embroidered flowers on it and a ruffle stands uparound the neck and is higher in the back.She has puffy sleeves made of netting.The upper part of the skirt (where most of the yellowing has occurred)is the same material as well as the belt.The lower 2/3rds of the skirt is white netting that is gathered allaround and again I find no holes or tears.

Her underskirt is a heavy, rather stiff gauzy material trimmed at the bottomwith the same material as her bodice. Itwould hold the skirt out nicely for display if pressed. Her slip is white muslin as well as herpanties. She has some thing under thebodice and it might be attached to her panties like a onsey. Her “something blue” would be her little blueoil cloth shoes with tiny silver buckles holding the bow to the shoe. They tie with blue ties and show a bit of ageas you can see in the pictures. She haswhite nylon socks.

Her long blond hair is in ‘banana’ curls around her head, but pulled to thesides in the back to allow for her ruffle.There are three little curls in front with gold barrettes at theside. It is still nice and soft but hasthe stiffness that holds the style like a new doll from that era did. Her swivel head is nice and tight and workswell. Her facial painting is soft, withlight orange lips on an open mouth with tiny white teeth and felt tongue. Her green sleep eyes show some age and arecloudy, but her long lashes are in great condition and she has painted lowerlashes. She has dark eye shadow aboveher eyes and light brows. Her cheeks areblushed and the only thing I see on her face is a very tiny brown mark thatmight be a brush stroke because that is what it looks like through a jewelersloop. There are no other marks, dents,or crazing.

Her soft, firmly stuffed cotton torso seems to be in great, clean conditionand I see no holes or tears. Hercomposition head and full chest plate are in remarkable condition. Her long legs are tinted in blush at theknees and sewn to her body at the upper leg so she sits well. Her slightly bent arms are also great with nochips, scratches, or missing fingers.She is still nicely strung and moves well.

What a wonderful find for anyone who collects vintage dolls from the 40’sand 50’s. I do not collect this type ofdoll, but she looks like the type of doll I would have played with when I wasyoung if not for being a tomboy. Ididn’t fall in love with dolls until 20 years ago, and collect much olderdolls, so I do not know much about these lovely dolls, however If I were juststarting to collect, I believe I would be drawn to these beauties.
