A PARTIALLY PRINTED DEED IN WHICH REVOLUTIONARY WAR HERO BENJAMIN TALLMADGE SELLS HIS LAND.  Litchfield, CT: 1801. Tallmadge sells a tract of land in Warren, CT to one Timothy Palmer Lee for Ten Dollars, signing his name in endorsement of the deal. Tallmadge organized the famed Culper spy ring during the Revolution. In March, 1801, Tallmadge was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives; this document dates from July of the same year. Printed form filled out in manuscript, 14.5 x 8.5 inches. Creased from folding, separation along upper fold, small holes along upper hold with loss to a few letters, foxing.
