What can I say about this book — it\'s a mess. The spine is gone, front cover almost off, back cover completely off. rough page edges and tape marks. This is original to 1939 (see scan). I need not inform anyone who may be interested in this book about the characters. Written and illustrated by Dorothy Wall. I was going to throw it in the trash, but it is such an iconic early and famous children\'s book that I did not have the heart to trash it, and I decided to list it at a very low price. The text is very readable, and the black and white art work is in good condition with few marks. Inside title page it reads: \"Birthday greetings to Jim on his sixth birthday from Douglas. Sydney, Australia, Aug. 16, 1939.\" I think little Jim had a grand time with this book, Sold as is with no return.
