Philippines Bontoc Headhunter Wooden Shield

A very interesting artifact with an anthropomorphic design in the form of a dancing man which acts as the shield\'s handle. c.a early 20th century.

Dimensions: Approximate: Height - 38\" ; Width Top - 11\" Width Bottom - 10"

Weight: 2kg very nice type of wood was used

MADE FROM A SINGLE SOLID BLOCK OF WOOD!

SUPERB native artifact, It may have taken a master carver to complete such an excellent shield with a style that made the wood somehow bent inside to form an arch shape with a deep relief type.

Very RARE!
