* Brazilian.* Modernist.* Figured rosewood tapered hourglass design pair of wooden candlesticks.* Signed/stamped with original affixed paper labels on the bottoms.* Each label says: \"Casa Hugo, Rio De Janiero, Brasil\" & \"Jacaranda Bracema Sao Paolo.\"* Vintage.* In 100% original condition. Untouched.* The iconic hourglass design is comprised of a long, gradually tapered inverted cone that meets the top form with an incredibly narrow, delicate neck, that gives way to the opposite upright form of a briskly opening pyramid, that remains shallow as it reaches its full width, with carved interior receptacles for traditional tapered wax candles.* In nearly immaculate condition, with no issues to report, no fissures, flea-bites, repaired breaks at the neck joints or any other issues. These rosewood candlesticks were obviously valued by their previous owners, in that they are still in nearly perfect condition.* The iconic hourglass design is more angular and more delicate here with these sticks. They seem weightless and have sharp, fine lines and are wonderfully balanced. They just sing with a pair of brilliant white tapered long candles in them.* The figured rosewood is laced with veins of black and deep, dark walnut and chestnut hues, sometimes looking more like marble than wood. This, as well as the form and design, make these Brazilian Modernist pair of rosewood candlesticks stand out and above their brethren. These are truly \"top shelf.\" If you like the best, then it would be difficult to find any Modernist candlesticks that would top these. Incredibly beautiful!
