The cover and handles of thisspectacular piece are painted in acreamy bluish white that changes to aniridescent, silvery blue that becomesdeeper in color as it washes from theupper body through the base. The raisedportions of the fancy designs have beengilded which remains in remarkably goodcondition today. The handles arescrolled, very ornate, and free ofdamage of any kind. The front paneloffers a cascade of four beautifullyhand painted red roses set against abackground of shaded and detailedfoliage. The rear panel offers acascade of two red roses againstfoliage on a much smaller scale. Theoverall condition is excellent for apiece of the age. There is uniform finecrazing present in the cover andthrough the upper creamy portions ofthe piece that is consistent withporcelain of this vintage. I am notable to find any other cracks, chips,spiders or damages of any kind. Themarks on the bottom include anunderglaze incised 2 and 2800, thecircular mark Franz Ant. Mehlem BonnReine, and BF (artist initials?) asshown in the photo. The base also showsthe Crowned FAM Bonn mark used from1875 - 1890. Also in green is written6072/4 290 Z639 on the inside of thebase and Z90 in green on the inside ofthe lid. The vase/urn stands 19 ½inches tall to the top of the finial,11 ½ inches across the handles and 8inches from front to back at the widestpoint.
