Establish in 1888 by Carl-Friedrich Bucherer, businessman and industrialist, opened his first shop in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1888 and since then, Bucherer has been know to create some of the finest pieces of the highest of quality.
This piece specifically dates to the Art Deco era of 1920-30s that combine the machine work of gullioche, the swirl pattern beneath the enamel on the sterling, and a rich coating of blue enamel with hand painted flowers. The watch mechanism is a daily wind-up and believed to be 17 jewels. The face of the watch is white and the watch hands are gold in color. This design originally came with a necklace and a bar brooch each with a push-in clasp that would attach itself to the watch. Offered here is only the bar brooch and watch shown in the photos.
The watch is currently not functioning and needs a maintenance service/lubing and a wind-up to get going. Bucherer, in this great to excellent condition, should have no mechanical problems. Enamel is in near mint condition. Clasp functions perfectly and is tight. It looks like this piece was used seldom.
