Bushnell Bino-Foto 7x50 Very Rare 1950s Vintage binoculars Birdwatching:
$49.99

I\'m selling a a pair of vintage binoculars

They\'re in good condition with some dirt and wear typical for a pair of binoculars over 65 years old, the only problem with them is there\'s a minor crack on the lens, but this does not affect the viewing quality at all as far as I can tell. You can refer to the photos for more info.

  • From BirdForum 17 Oct 2013...When Dave Bushnell was importing first rate binoculars, they were the equal to anything the Germans were making. I have a pair of Bushnell 7x50 CF binoculars which were designed to be multi-purpose, general use and as a 7X telephoto lens.

The left ocular is quickly detached and in its place some kind of camera connector turns in and stops.

It came in a beautifully crafted leather case. The binocular is called the Bino-Foto and has the standard 7 degree 1 minute FOV. The carrying strap is a flat braided leather strap. Of course it has coated lens which show a blue tint, the color of Bushnell binoculars having UV filters.

First rate construction throughout. Uses B&L construction. Made by Fuji Optical Company. Circa 1950s - 1960s.

What makes this binocular really special is that the lens are sharp across the entire field, comparable to the Nikon SE. I have never seen any 7x50 as sharp as this one. From BirdForum 10 November 2010....Have acquired a Bushnell 7x50 binocular called the Bino-Foto. It is a CF with B&L style body. The left ocular is designed for rapid removal to accommodate some sort of camera attachment. It has a 7.1 FOV and some sort of filter built in resulting in a very blue coating. Probably made in the 1960s or 1970s. The hard case is made of leather and finely finished. The strap for the binocular is braided leather.

Close examination shows that it is has been crafted like porro alphas of its era. The barrels inside are baffled to reduce reflections. The prisms appear to be both glued and strapped in place. The focusing is butter smooth. The finish is Zeiss like. But what sets this binocular apart is its remarkable view.

The sweet spot is huge and holds it detail almost to the very edge of the field, which is something my commercial B&L and Zeiss 7x50s won\"t do.
