Silver top hallmarked for Sheffield 1895.
Makers mark \'JR\' Sheffield Silversmith John Round.
Dark horn handle.
Hallmarked silver collar for the same date.
Smooth cane shaft, rigid and without flex.It is difficult to know exactly the intended purpose of this item. It is our belief that it is possibly a \'Butler Stick\' of some sort and used to check and perfect the position of the plates and cutlery of a formal dinner placing at prestigious houses.ITEM CONDITIONAged/used condition with the expected surface wear and dings to the silver. Mild marks to the horn . ITEM MEASUREMENTS (APPROXIMATES)Height: 57cm
