Up for sale is a very nice old master sepia painting. It is signed lower left: I can\'t make out the last name, but the first name appears to be \"Frederic\". From the style, the composition, and the fact it was painted on \'laid\' paper, my guess is this was painted some time between 1780 and 1830. The composition is quite good - a nice treatment of the trees on the right, and the villas in the background. The scene is fairly typical of the Neoclassical\\Romantic period. The painting itself measures approximately 10 x 14 1\\2 inches. The painting was laid down on a card backing. I will include the modern gilt wood, the backing, and the matt with the painting. I won\'t ship the glass for fear of damaging the image. The condition is quite good, considering the piece is around 200 years old. Some minor foxing and wear as well as some acid staining around the margins where the landscape was framed at an earlier time. No rips or tears that I can see.
