FIDDLE PATTERN LADLE
FAUX SILVER MARKS
A large nineteenth century antique silver plated soup ladle with a fiddle pattern handle and capacious serving bowl. The maker Parker & Marshall of Sheffield used fauxsilver hallmarks, including a leopards head, as their makers marks. This practice was common during the early period of silver plating. There is a stylish monogram to the upper terminal as can be seen in the images provided.
It is in good condition for its age being without structural fault. There are signs of wear to the silver cover to both sides of the bowl and a little surrounding the monogram, otherwise good.
Displays well and decidedly fit for purpose. A heavy and quality antique item.

- Length: 33cm/13”
