On consignment, this early c.1877very heavy cast iron California Electrical Worksfire alarm box from San Francisco. Marked on front door in raised letters AUXILIARY FIRE ALARM STATION. CAL. ELECTRICAL WORKS. S.F. No insides. Overall about 12 3/4\" high X 8 3/4\" wide X 5\" deep. California Electrical works was a early supplier of all things electrical--Telegraph, fire alarm, sounders, keys, relays, switches,registers, dial and printing telegraph instruments, office, magnet and galvanized wire, batteries, burglar alarms, annunciators, call bells, watchman detectors, blasting, western lighting etc.and other related equipment.Last picture shows their ad from THE JOURNAL OF THE TELEGRAPHNovember 1, 1877.
