I have a fabulous Cartier blue Sapphire and Diamond ring in 18K yellow gold that has been platinum plated. The center stone is a beautiful blue oval sapphire that is surrounded by 12 round diamonds. The band has 3 square cut sapphires and 6 round diamonds on each side (a total of 6 square sapphires and 12 round diamonds). The sapphires are a very good color blue and 1.78 total carat weight. The diamonds are 0.98total carat weight. The ring weighs 5.8 grams. It is size 7 andcan be easily resized.The original Cartier red ring box and the appraisal from Cartier (please see the appraisal in the Photographs for complete details) are included.

I took the Cartier sapphire ring to my jeweler and this is what they told me after examining the ring through a loupe.

1. There is moderate wear on the gold bezel holding the center sapphire in place

2. There are several small nicks at the facet junction

3. There is some light scratching to the table

In addition, from a positive side, my jeweler also told me the following:

1. The center sapphire \"faces up very well\"

2. The color of the sapphire is \"very fine\"
