Up for sale is an old CDV album and cased ambrotype from the civil war period. The ambrotype is of aseated Civil Soldier with his young wife at his side. The soldier appears to be wearing a large ribbon on his chest, and the young lady is wearing black lace gloves. It makes me think it is a mourning photograph, possibly for the president(only my speculation). The image is in a half case, and the glass on the front is broken as shown. As for the album, there is at lease one cdv of a soldier, with lots of other cdv\'s of men, women, and children. A total of28 images are in the album, and I noted thattwo of the visible backs mentioned anIllinois and Ohio photography studio. Also, a green tax revenue stamp is visible on one of the backs.I did not take any of the pictures out of their holders in fear of damaging the book.

The album is complete with it\'s covers, but the spine has pulled away from theleather binding. Luckily, the metal clasps keeps the collection together. Due to condition, no value should be placed on the album itself.
