Up for sale is an interesting handwritten travel diary that includes Postcards, photos and two original a watercolors of a trip to Italy in 1927. I believe the diary was written by a English woman. Her name was Helga L. Hope, and she also had a friend accompany her on the trip by the name of Katherine Irene Hancock.This travelogue consists of 87 foilo sized pages including the written account,with approximately 19 postcards, 20 original photographs, and as I mentioned two original small water colors. All items are glued on the pages, but postcards stuck by the corners only. I counted about 36 double sided pages of text. Katherine begins writing as they leave Victoria April 14, 1927 and continues until April 25th still in Italy. She wrote quite a bit for such a short trip. I also discovered she may have been a nurse. I did find a Katherine Irene Hancock listed on Kings College London\'s website. They have her listed as a pioneering nurse in their archives. Unfortunately I am not positive it could a different person, more research would have to be completed to verify this information. While in Italy Katherine was staying at various mountain top villages, and a very beautiful Italian villa at one point. I saw mention of a Col. I am not sure if that was someone she ran into on the trip or a relation.There is an interesting story here, but I have not transcribed the entire diary or researched more due to time.
