This is an early Civil War Period 1/4 plate Ambrotype showing a group of 4 young soldiers. One wears the uniform of a Musician. This image, although unidentified, has descended from the Wolfe Family, and was purchased directly from the family Estate Sale in Holidaysburg, Blair County Pennsylvania. Local history names this family as ancestors of the noted \"Wolfe Furniture Company.\" some further research may provide more details. This is nicely composed and emotionally evocative image of 4 young men, just as the Civil War begins.

Condition: Very Good. The case shows some wear and is split at the spine. Please see our large scans for an accurate representation of the image.
