These combined maps & guides arenot only fascinating
but incredibly valuable research tools for treasure hunters& metal detector folks
Discovery of the location of the vast amount of longvanished towns
is as easy as looking at the Guide’s included map
and thenzeroing in on the present day area using Google Earth
After some painstaking research I amquite confident
THIS LISTING FOR:

is from the Clason printing period
between 1924 & 1929
Narrowing it down to a single yearwould be
much more difficult, if notimpossible
For thosewishing to begin their own research, go to:
I am by no means a professional atrating a books or maps condition
But to my eye, for something that isbetween 87 & 92 years old,
the overall condition is very good (seephotos)
The cover is complete & attached,as are all (32) numbered pages
The cover has a separation from thebottom up to the first of the two staples that form the binding, for a distanceof 1 ¾”
All pages are present, unmarked and ingood condition
No mold or mildew odor to my nose
The included map
is in much more delicate conditionthen the Guide itself
Measuring 21x27”, the two sided map is detached from the GuideBook,
although the separation location on the map matches the small pieceremaining on the rear cover at the original attachment location
Again, I amnot an expert on Clason’s Green Guides, (those folks are few & farbetween),
but I truly believe this is a complete and originally paired GuideBook & Map
The map is torn at the folds in manylocations, but is complete and in one piece, (see photos)
It requires delicate handling toprevent further damage
The printing is still very clear& legible
Since comparisons are extremely scarce
to
almost non-existent outside ofmuseums
these books are difficult for me toprice,
