c. 1970sDescription & Condition:
This attractive white bone china covered sugar bowl was made by Royal Doulton for the Cunard Steamship Line, c. 1970s. It is in excellent condition with no chips, repairs, stains or crazing. Porcelain is all white with a gold gilt used for decoration. It has the Cunard logo (lion standing holding globe) printed on the side in a gold gilt and the bottom has the Royal Doulton maker mark in a gray brown color. There is an imbossed design on the finial of the cover and trimmed in gilding. There are also two lines of gilding that encircle the sugar bowl.We have obtained historical information that shows this pattern was used on a few of Cunard\'s ships, but most notably, Queen Elizabeth II (QE2). The QE2, was owned by Cunard from 1969 to 1998, when Cunard was acquired by Carnival.Size: It measures approximately 3-1/2\" at the top of its finial and is about 3-3/4\" long and 3 inches wide.
