This British Royal Navy boarding axewas found byEnsign John Sinclair of the Baltimore Patriots, Baltimore Citizen’s MilitiaCompany on the battlefield of North Point, Baltimore, Maryland.

This listing is for the one on the bottom in the picture not for both!

It is 15 1/8” the wood handle with a 5” spike backed ironhead with a 2 5/8” cutting edge & a 3 3/8”spike on the back & a pair of 5 ¼” arms riveted to the wood shaft.Itis stamped with the Royal Navy broad arrow mark& the manufacturer.

It is in good condition with the wood solid & withoutany cracks or rot & the head has a dark brown patina with light pits.

He was in charge of collecting all the captured, dropped orbroken weapons for the Maryland Militia on the battlefield after the battle.

He fought at the Battle of North Point & the Battle ofFort McHenry in 1814.

It was bought directly from the Sinclair family in Baltimore, Maryland by Joseph Becker & was part ofhis small but high quality Marylandcollection.
