Amp was bought by me less than month ago. sold to me as refurbished by Pyramid Audio in austin texas. a authorized service center for Carver. I have only used it for just a few minutes testing it out. I was building a carver system but then the preamp I was waiting on to finish the system died. so I just have changed plans. works fine. the service tag is still on the unit. should be great amp for years to come. I bought it specifically because it was serviced and ready to go. the cost of this one is not much more than the usual going price. I have some internal pics from when the service center had it open. I have not opened it up. I also have some pics of the test specs when it was tested . only reason they are no here is because they are less than the required size to post and I gave up trying to resize them. anyone that wants to see them just ask and I can send them direct i suppose. the amp is solid.I have had this amp maybe 1 month.
its still hooked up right now and gentleman it has some power. sounds good too. I am not going to keep trying to sell this one.ANY QUESTIONS...ASK... I work at Pyramid Audio where we have worked on Carver equipment since they were new and we were a warranty station. This amp needed the trivial repair, the replacement of driver transistors and it comes with a 90 day warranty. This is probably the best Carver amplifier to own. The internal construction is very clean with very little point-to-point wiring. The bottom is removable and as an engineer I appreciate that. The parts selection is excellent and it greatly exceeds the published specifications. Rated for 200 W per channel at eight ohms it actually delivers 400 W per channel at 0.6 % distortion which is the onset of clipping. At 1 watt the distortion is 0.06%. This is also the preferred 1.0t to own as it is the later model with a bridge switch the early models lacked. With a signal to noise ratio of 110 dB it is also quiet. The capacitors are in excellent condition as evidenced by the frequency response, which is off only by half a decibel at 10 Hz and 30 kHz. The picture of the inside shows little heat stress or contamination. 8-ohm FTC rated power/ch 200W
