CAST IRON TOY CART w/DOGS ANTIQUE TOY 2 WHEELS ORIGINAL

Variously attributed to major American firms, this finely finished cast iron cart pulled by a large dog was manufactured without a manufacturer\'s mark.That was common in cast iron a century ago.Six (6) inches long with black paint remnants, the two-wheeled cart rolls freely. The pulling dog is molded into the wagon traces with no missing parts and no breaks. The cast iron has the finish and texture of an earlier period, perhaps around 1900.Made of cast iron, it is quite heavy and weighs approximately one (1) pound.

The driver is a separate cast iron white-painted dog that is much smaller than the pulling dog. The paint gives every indication of being original. Most viewers think the motive power is a greyhound and the driver/passenger in the single seat is a spaniel or other small dog. There is no locking mechanism holding the small driver in its seat, but the peg and hold castings seem to fit together. Because this cast iron toy cart is well over half a century in age and probably much more, it may also have deficiencies that I have not found. This cart with dog driver and dog pulling has no restoration and is complete in \"played with\" condition. It has beena part of a collection for many years that is now being simplified. Age happens.
