My research shows this is a cavalry lance or pike tip circa 1870 - 1915.Made of steel, 9 3/4 inches long. No rust or pitting. 80 - 90% original finish. It appears that the blade edges were lightly filed. No markings of any kind. I think these were sold as surplus in the 1950s or early 1960s and advertised in the American Rifleman Magazine. Quite rare.
