This sale is for one (1) Civil WarID’d CDV Image of “Riley S. Smith”.Military Records indicate that Riley S. Smith served as a Private inCompany D, 13th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. This image shows him in a military uniformand a brass button is evident in the image.I purchased this many years ago from a military image dealer who hadfound it and other ID’d images of men belonging to the 13th O.V.I. in an albumthat he purchased from an estate. Thisis a very nice ID’d image. The topappears to have been slightly trimmed to fit in the album in which it wasfound. There are no photographer’s markings. The reversed side is signed“Yours Truly – R.S. Smith – Columbus Ohio”.I have listed the history of the 13th O.V.I. below. This regiment saw service in many well knowncampaigns and battles. In June of 1865,they were sent to Green Lake, Texas for duty and then on to San Antonio Texasfor duty until December 5, 1865 at which time the 13th was musteredout of service.

This is an extremely nice ID’d andSIGNED CVC of a Ohio soldier and it would make a great addition to any CivilWar collection. ID’d CDVs are gettingvery hard to find so don’t pass this one up!Please see photos for condition.Thank you.
