Measuring about 7\" x 3½\", and mounted on a yellow backing board, this Charles Seaver stereo view is identified on the back as \"The Terrace\", or No. 58 in a series of views of Central Park, New York. The titles printed on the back are numbered 51 through 100, and it\'s unclear how many total views were in the series. The credits on thefront are \"Charles Pollock, Boston, Publisher\" and \"C. Seaver, Jr., Photographer.\" It has been veryprecisely hand colored, and the detail and focus are very fine. Although it is undated, the physical characteristics suggest the 1870\'s.

It is in generally excellent condition but with some light brown staining on the photos - most visible in the sky area - which I assume to be the old glue bleeding through. It also might have some prior owner or bookstore markings on the back, which are usually in pencil.
