A fabulous Victorian cast bronze inkwell in the form of a very sweet looking dog holding a riding crop which acts as a pen holder (as seen in the photographs - pen not included in the sale).The head of the dog opens to reveal the ink chamber. The dog is hand chased all over to give it a realistic texture. The dog retains his two original little glass eyes.The plinth is a heavy piece of stone, perhaps polished slate, with a little age chip. Excellent condition and about as charming as they come.
