This is my Chatty Cathy that I got in the late 50s or early 60s. It was the first year she was produced and is marked on back with Patent Pending. We only got one gift at Christmas and this was mine. We lived on a Farm. Everyone had to see and pull the string. It broke shortly from all the action. My mom sent Cathy to Mattel who replaced or repaired with new string and voice box. Then the string broke again. I know the voice box was new so it would still be good. There is no way to open the Doll. Anyway, that\'s her story. She would talk if she could. She is in good shape. There are some smudges of red from her clothes after wearing them all these years forever. These are the original clothes and shoes. The shoes need new straps. She only has one old sock. She has always lived in smokes free homes. I think of her Blond yet must be Strawberry Blond which was my hair coloring. A Ginger.
