U.S. Maritime Commission time only Ship\'s Clock with a newly silvered original eight inch 12 hour brass dial, black reflector ring, original black spade hands, a full sweep black Chelsea seconds hand, and black Arabic numerals. It is fitted in an original 8 incn black phenolic case with a swing open bezel. Has an 11-jewel lever escapement, an 8 day time-only movement, and a micrometer type S/F regulator. \"CHELSEA CLOCK CO. BOSTON\" appears in two lines of upper case indented black letters above the center arbor. Below the center arbor, in two lines of upper case black letters are the words \"U.S. MARITIME COMMISSION - SER. No.\". All Chelsea maritime/military clocks of the WWI and WWII eras were built to the exacting specifications of the U.S. Naval Observatory.
