You are offerding on a very rare seldom seen 16th century famous Italian artist... Cherubino Alberti 1st state engraving. This is an original engraving from about 1576 so that makes this piece over 400 years old and is in museum displayable condition. Alberti was born in 1553-1615 He was born in Tuscany, Italy and studied in Rome under Cornelius Cort and worked as an engraver modeling his works after other artist\'s works. Alberti\'s early influences were works by Raphael, Michelangelo, Caravaggio. This work is a engraving of an existing bas relief on the outside of a Roman or Greek Temple. Size of artwork is 16 inches long by 6 1/2 inches height. The approximate date of this creation is 1576 making this item 439 years old. The condition of this work of art, is it has been mounted to paper but the paper the work was done on is hand woven hand made paper. There is slight foxing beginning to occur from verso to recto. This item was custom framed by art encounter, and is framed with ultraviolet filtering acrylic to protect artwork from damage caused by ultraviolet light.
