Daoguang (1821-1850) Chinese Export Porcelain Hen Form Covered Tureen
8\"l x 5 7/8\"h x 3 5/8\" wide, early 19th century.
Hen form with chick form finial. Famille rose palette & iron red & gilt painted along with relief white dot decoration. Lite wear & natural wear to gilt. A nice example.
Similar tureens in other forms are shown in figures 129-134, pp.52-53 of Schiffer\'s Chinese Export Porcelain Standard Patterns & Forms 1780-1880. 18th century examples are shown in Sargent\'s The Copeland Collection of Chinese & Japanese Ceramic Figures (1991).
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines, nor restorations.
