CHINESE EXPORT SILVER MUG INVERTED DRAGON HANDLE SIGNED

A very rare design, c1875 Chinese export silver

inverted dragon handle the over 60 CES dragon mugs we have collected, this is one

of only two with the inverted design.

Cylindrical shape double walled.

Center shield with 1877 presentation.

Framed with applied and hand chased dragons battling over

sacred pearl, here as fiery orb.

Amidst rolling cloud formations.

The beautifully cast 5 claw dragon handle inverted, such

that the head faces upward from beneath the rim,

with tapering S scroll body.

Excellent.

Rich silver patina.

Retains original detail.
