Offered here is a circa 1925-1935, solid old Navaho weaving thatmeasures 5 feet long by 2 foot11 inches wide or 60” x 35”. It isattributed to the Teec Nos Pos weaving area and is in very good to excellentcondition. It was hand-woven by anexpert weaver on a primitive upright loom of all Native handshorn, hand cardedand very nicely handspun long staple old Churro and Churro cross sheep wool, both weft & warp. Here is a dandyold textile with a three column layout on a grey and white checkeredfield. The columns of design are 4quarter serrated diamonds. The diamondsalternate in color from red & white to red & chocolate brown. The border is a very nice fine stepped runningdog motif in burnt orange & dark chocolate brown and outlined withwhite. Interestingly different for a Teec.

We recently obtained this vintage Native Americantextile fresh out of a large Arizonacollection just to offer you here on .It has an even, fine weft count averaging 34 per inch and a warp countof 8 per inch. The selvage cords are allin original, excellent condition. Warpselvages are 2-spiral cords and weft selvages are 2-spiral cords. The corners are all four tight, original andin excellent condition. The tassels are all four excellent with 2 beingoriginal and 2 being restored. It hasnot been cleaned, is pretty clean now & comes from a non-smoking home. There is one small light tannish spot ¾” inthe field and two small places of light bleed. One is red in one quarter of a 4 quarter serrated diamond and one isburnt orange along the border just into a white rectangle with both being hardto see unless you are looking for them. The reds are a little brighter on one side than the other. Both sides are shown in photos above. Colors are great in this piece of old AmericanIndian art and they are: hand carded& blended natural brownish grey & ivory white along with hand dyedaniline dark chocolate brown, burnt orange & turkey red. Complete with lazy lines and a Spirit Trailor weaver’s pathway, this example of old Native Americana is ready to tuckaway in your own private rug & blanket collection. class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"tab-stops: .75in;\"><> <> <> <> <><> <> <> <> <> <> <> <><> <> <> <> <>
