Cisco the Kid 1-03-52, Overall size 22 1/2 x 7 1/8, (20 1/8 x 5 3/8) off white, folded slightly between panels. Zip-a-tone in in all three panels, signed in the last panel. Overall in very good condition. The amount of detail Salinas put into Cisco\'s shirt is amazing, Salinas also did a great closeup of the villain in the last panel. The winner will also receive the custom made mylar sleeve used to protect it. Jose Luis Salinas(February 11th 1908-January 10th 1985) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After a successful time as an illustrator and comic artist in Argentina, he made his way to New York City in 1949 and was hired on at King Features . \"I was assigned to the department where did the thumbtacks, adaptations of the original strips for other magazines. clipped, pasted, completed drawings. tasks of a beginner. ..in my free time, I drew the boys who were in the art department, especially the boss, they grabbed the drawings and took them in, to the editor, one of the many bosses. He remained in the States until about 1953 when he moved back to his home country of Argentina. From then on he would correspond back and forth with his writer, Rod Reed, and mail his artwork in. Rod Reed would later say this about his fellow collaborator ... \"Salinas was a dream to work with. The way he followed a script to capture action, facial expressions and authentic scenes and backgrounds was uncanny. And this was just short of miraculous when you consider his English was limited and stories had to be translated into Spanish for him. (But) my esteem for the artist never Flagged and I looked forward each week to seeing a new set of proofs with Joses live, vigorous drawings. Sometimes I was so taken up with the pictures that I admired them first before turning attention to my own prose.\" The strip would run in syndication until August 10, 1968.
