Attention Civil War collectors, here is your chance to add an incredibly rare 1861 contract lockplate to your collection!!
Great for display or for finishing off your project! One, 1862 dated \"Philadelphia\" lockplate. The lockplate is worn from use, the 1862 is crisp but the US Federal Eagle stamp and part of the \"Philadelphia\" mark is worn but visible.
The US government contracted out 30 some odd \'61 Springfield contracts during the war. Very few muskets were delivered by John Rice of Phili, PA with the \"Philadelphia\" stamp, records show only 2,000 of 30,000 were delivered.
Great to complete your lockplate collection or can be built up into a working lock for display or to build your own rifle-musket! Very hard to find.....
