According to the book page 76, Frederick Jarvisenlisted in Co. E, 6th Cavalry on Jan. 3, 1864, at Madison. He was25 years old. He mustered in Jan. 12, 1864. Was absent sick February 1865. Nofurther record.

The document, dated 1884, confirms that, adding thathe was a private of 1st Lt. John C. Malloy’s Company. It also states that he was discharged on Oct.15, 1865.

The Record of Service book of the Sixth Michigan Cavalrywas published by the authority of the Michigan Legislature by Ihling Bros.& Everard, Kalamazoo, Mich. I couldn’t find a copyright date.

Size: Document is about 11” by 8 ½”. Book cover is 9¼” by 6 ½” and has 155 numbered pages.

Condition: Book has water and ink staining, mainlyon the cover and fly leafs. Inside pages are in very good condition. Documenthas been folded and is somewhat soiled.
