An original Civil War document. This is a loyalty oath document from Gwinnett County Georgia. It says that a person swears that he will support and protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of the States and will support all laws which have been made duirng the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves. It is signed and dated August 1865 from Lawrenceville Ga.

Thedocument has wear, there are pieces missing, tearing, stain marks, and clear tape on it.
